My Story
I received my first camera handed down from my Uncle. It was a Kodak Retinette (this is still in the cupboard and one day I hope to put film in this and take it out shooting). I then spent years using compact cameras until I bought my Canon D450. The lens I like using the most is the 70 -300ml but found sometimes it just wasn't long enough. I then bought a Leica V-Lux 2 which I loved for the versatility. My next camera was a Leica M9P, which is a totally different camera to use simply because it is a fully manual rangefinder, and my latest purchase was a second hand Nikon D700. A few years ago I also purchased a Holga 120N and am now starting to have fun with this. Of course like many people I have an iPhone, which I am having a lot of fun with - especially an app called Hipstamatic.
I have joined two local photography clubs and this is pushing me to take the next step to be more creative. I have surprised myself and have won a number of awards, creating emotions of complete joy and complete surprise ("did that really happen?"). I am enjoying the experience of being with like minded people and going out on excursions. Through the photography clubs I have also met some really talented people who have inspired me even more to improve my photography and to give anything a go.
